ABOUT THE AUTHOR

JOHN FRANZELAS

I was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale Florida, at the time a small resort city. My parents were the children of Greek immigrants, and I grew up in a loving household with two wonderful parents along with caring grandparents. My adolescence was spent enjoying the beautiful beaches, fishing in the river and canals and playing outdoor sports year-round in the beautiful South Florida weather. I graduated from high school in 1971, attended Broward College where I graduated with honors  in 1973, and went on to attend the University of Florida where I came to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior in the spring of 1974, part of the “Jesus Revolution”.

As you read The Encounter, you will begin to sense the Holy Spirit of God calling you into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

About The Book

The Encounter

Rachel was an atheist, living in a world reeling from the seemingly inexplicable sudden disappearance of millions of people and where belief in Jesus Christ was deemed unacceptable. She lived a life without purpose, content with her worldly pleasures and faithless life. But everything changed when she met James at the library. James was different from anyone she had ever met before. He was kind, gentle, and most importantly, a devout Christian. Despite the ridicule and persecution he faced for his beliefs, he remained steadfast in his faith. As James and Rachel's friendship blossoms, he begins to share with her the teachings of the Bible and the story of Jesus. Rachel is skeptical at first, but as she learns more, she starts to feel a stirring in her heart.
